  • I was looking at the Usergroup Manager under Default Usergroups and it showed that I have 2 users awaiting e-mail activation. I've searched on Users with the box checked for Users Awaiting E-mail Activation and none were found. I looked at every one of my users that have not posted and none of them had the awaiting e-mail activation box checked.

I upgraded from 3.6.8 to 3.7.0 to 3.7.1 and I run a default forum with no hacks. How do I find out who is waiting activation or clear out the stuck bits if that is what it is?

    Thanks

    Mike

  • When you are in your Usergroup Manager, one of the drop-downs next to that usergroup should have an option to display all Primary Users. That should show who is in that group.

  • Where is this "Actions" box? I have a list of users awaiting e-mail confirmation... and I want to manually send them activation e-mails (preferably in one batch swoop) Can someone step me through how to get this done?

  • You are right, Elenna. I didn't even think to click on the down arrow and searched all over the place looking for who it was.

It did show me the two users that are in that user group. But when I look at the users themselves, they do not have the awaiting activation box checked, or any other box in the User Group section checked at all. Both of these users joined in March, so I don't know if the e-mail never went out or they didn't receive it. My forum is a small specialty forum, and I remember when they joined.

I guess what I can do is either delete them and see if they come back or re-send the activation e-mail and see if they come back.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Elenna. Not seeing it is almost as bad as when I do find something and then I can't remember where in the Admin section I saw it so I can go back and change something. :D

    Thanks

    Mike

No problem at all :) There are soooooo many options in the AdminCP, I'm finding new things every week!

From what I remember, there are two sections for Usergroup in someone's profile. One is a drop-down for the Primary one, and the check-boxes are for the Secondary usergroups. The Awaiting Email Confirmation should be their Primary usergroup and will be in the drop-down box above all the checkboxes.

What I usually do it use the "Actions" drop-down on the top left and choose Resend Activation Codes (hold down Control while clicking to bypass pop-up blockers). That will re-send their email codes.

If they don't click the link in a week or so, then I just delete their account and figure that they can re-register if they want :)
